In my case I had to renew my ID as well as manage to get another passport (this is also useful in case one passport will get lost, you can still use the second one). Also in order to rent or buy a car abroad, it is useful to arrange <strong>international driving license<\/strong>. In Slovakia it is a matter of few minutes and 6 euro at the offices of local authorities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-19000\" src=\"https:\/\/milimundo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-01-01-at-00.12.56-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/milimundo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-01-01-at-00.12.56-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/milimundo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-01-01-at-00.12.56-600x800.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/milimundo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-01-01-at-00.12.56-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/milimundo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-01-01-at-00.12.56-1152x1536.jpeg 1152w, https:\/\/milimundo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-01-01-at-00.12.56.jpeg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>NEW ELECTRONICS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">In order to be fully prepared, get your new external charger, notebook or battery to notebook, new phone, etc \u2026 Especially if you are planning to live in a car with limited amount of electricity access, it also useful to have fully functional electrical equipment.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES BACK HOME<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Make sure you have closed up and cancelled all the <strong>contracts with your apartment landlord <\/strong>(or make some other arrangements if possible), <strong>phone operators, health insurance policy<\/strong>, etc\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For example, <em><u>in Slovakia if you travel out of Europe for at least 6 months, you don\u00b4t have a duty to pay Slovak health insurance<\/u><\/em>, however, in order to do so, you have to provide them either with a new job contract from abroad OR travel insurance contract covering the period of time you will spend out of Slovakia.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>TRAVEL INSURANCE <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Well, travel insurance is something you hope you will never need to use, however, it is something you shouldn\u00b4t travel without. I usually insure myself with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truetraveller.com\/default.aspx?tag=4386\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>True Travellers<\/strong><\/a> or<strong> Allianz<\/strong>. <em><u>Make sure you travel insurance is up to date and covers all the activities you are planning on doing<\/u><\/em> (extreme sports, hiking in higher altitude, work risk, \u2026 )<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.truetraveller.com\/default.aspx?tag=4386\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3017 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/milimundo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/97090b.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"970\" height=\"90\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>BANK DUTIES <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Before leaving abroad especially for longer time<strong>, I always pay a visit to a branch of my bank(s) to let them know about my travels so they won\u00b4t block my card in order to \u201cprotect\u201d me from odd foreign transactions.<\/strong> Moreover, <em><u>I usually need an official bank statement with certain amount of money<\/u><\/em> before entering certain countries with Working Holiday visa such as New Zealand.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>OTHER<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Last but not least, before setting off I always try to get as much information about the country as possible. I join FB groups, chat with some people who had already been to those countries, I usually book my accommodation for the first two nights or look for some couchsurfing hosts. <strong>Regarding New Zealand, for example I have already managed to open my bank account in ANZ bank online and I got an appointment their branch in Auckland on certain date and time to pick up my bank card <\/strong>and finalize the documents. It never hurts to get prepared \u2026<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>WHICH THINGS I USUALLY PLAY BY EAR<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Usually it is the work. <em><u>I wasn\u00b4t looking for any jobs in advance before travelling neither to Canada or to New Zealand, I just play it by ear and look for something on a spot<\/u><\/em>. Sometimes it is great to let the things happen and give some space to spontaneity. \u00a0<strong>Another thing I am not arranging in advance is buying a campervan<\/strong>.
